22. A book you once loved, but don’t anymore. What changed?
Hmm. I guess… Nancy Drew books? I used to eat those things up in elementary school, then I got to one about a horse island or something and realized I didn’t really care anymore.
Anecdote that isn’t pertinent to the challenge prompt:
What finally actually stopped me from reading Nancy Drew books was a case of vocabulary ignorance. I don’t know which book it is, but Nancy is snooping in a hospital. The chapter is called “Into the Morgue,” but I didn’t know what a morgue was at the time. When Nancy goes to talk to a “sleeping” man, only to realize it’s a morgue corpse, I was so scared I couldn’t finish the story. That was the end of my Nancy Drew stint.
